American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI)Founded in 1976, the American Society of Home Inspectors is North America’s oldest and most respected society of home inspectors. ASHI members must adhere to rigorous standards of practice and a strict code of ethics. For an inspector to advance from Associate to Full member, he or she must pass a national examination, complete 250 documented home inspections, and undergo peer reviews
Our inspectors are full members, the highest ranking in ASHI. In fact, LuxRE Principle and Director of Quality Control Brian Koepf, was the 229th inspector to join ASHI. He held many leadership positions in the organization, including his current work with the ASHI National Technical Committee and the local NOVA-ASHI Board.
Virginia Department of Professional and Occupation Regulation (VA DPOR) VA DPOR sets the regulations for the voluntary certification of home inspectors in Virginia, which is the only government issued designation in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area.

Our inspectors are among the relatively few inspectors certified by VA DPOR. Certification #3380000197 Certification #3380000254

This award-winning and very active local chapter of ASHI is dedicated to promoting excellence within the home inspection profession and to improving service to consumers through ASHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
Our inspectors are active members of this chapter, which keeps LuxRE in the middle of the latest training, education, and local home trends. Inspectors Jiri Danihel and Brian Koepf serve on committees with NOVA ASHI, and the group recently appointed Brian to the Board of Directors.
Virginia Association of Real Estate Inspectors (VAREI)
VAREI acts as a voice for Virginia home inspectors and consumers in statewide issues. Membership in VAREI is a way of protecting the standards that regulate professional inspectors and the interests of the public.
Inspection Training Associates (ITA) Certified
Founded in 1987, ITA is the oldest, most respected, and most experienced educational institution in the profession. Our inspectors are ITA trained, including annual specialized coursework, and certified. These courses are voluntary in the industry, but required to inspect for our LuxRE Clients.
The Foundation of Real Estate Appraisers (FREA) – Independent third party insurer
Our inspectors are fully insured with Individual, Company, and Errors & Omissions insurance. Buyer beware: Errors & Omissions insurance is very costly, and most home inspection companies are not fully insured with E&O. LuxRE requires full insurance to give our clients peace of mind and luxury level service.
